Fayetteville Rotary Paul Harris Fellows: Non-Active Fellows
(are included above)
A Paul Harris Fellowship is a recognition of an individuals contribution of $1,000 cumulatively to the Paul Harris Foundation. A Paul Harris Fellowship is awarded for each $1,000 that is given to the foundation, so it is possible for a Rotarian to be a multiple PH Fellow and our club does have some members that are. To facilitate the motivating each member to become a Paul Harris Fellow and, in fact, to continue to give to the benefit of Rotary, the club designates $250 of each person's annual dues to be used toward a PH Fellowship. Four club members are randomly grouped together and the $250 from each is combined each year to name 1 of them a PH Fellow. After 4 years, everyone in the group is a PH Fellow.
After each person has received a PH designation, that same process is used to obtain a Will Watt Fellowship for each person. Will Watt is the founder of the Georgia Rotary Student Program and the funds donated to it are used in the GRSP program.
After 8 complete years, each club member has become both a PH and a WW fellow. Subsequent to the 8th year, the $250 annual allocation of the dues can be designated by the member toward an additional Paul Harris or an additional Will Watt fellowship. Each additional Fellowship can be construed on the member or in honor of someone whom the member designates. (What a great way to honor a spouse or parent or mentor!!!) In addition, individual gifts can be made to either foundation (PH or WW) and counted toward each designation. There are additional honors and recognitions for members who bestow additional gifts to each foundation.
